Finals Eligibility Override (Association Admins Only)
Overview
The Finals Eligibility functionality allows association administrators to set the minimum number of regular season games a player will need to play in order to be eligible for selection in a finals team. If a player fails to meet the eligibility criteria, administrators will not be able to add them to the lineup.
Finals eligibility can be configured for both new and existing competitions at both the competition and grade levels.
Setting up Finals Eligibility for a Competition
For new competitions, you will find a Finals Eligibility toggle on the “Grade Default Settings" page when creating a competition.
Setting up Finals Eligibility for a Grade
Finals eligibility can be set in two ways. These are:
Inheriting from Competition: Grades created within a competition will inherit the competition's finals eligibility settings. However, it is possible to edit this finals eligibility value or disable finals eligibility at the grade level if necessary.
Set it at Grade level: If finals eligibility is not set at the competition level but is required for specific grades, you can enable it directly on the grade setup page. Toggle the switch and enter the desired value for eligibility criteria.
Viewing Finals Eligibility of a Team in the Grade
After enabling Finals Eligibility for a competition or grade, administrators can view the eligibility criteria and the number of games played by each player for a specific team. This information is accessible through the team allocation page within the competition view.
Please note that in order for this information to be displayed, the team must be allocated to a grade.
Team Selection based on Eligibility Criteria
If a player has not met the finals eligibility criteria for the number of games played in a regular season, the following actions will occur on the Game Day page and Electronic Score Application:
Game Day
The "Selection" icon to move players from the bench into the active line up will be disabled for player who did not meet the eligibility criteria. A tooltip message will also be displayed, indicating that player has not met the finals eligibility criteria.
Electronic Scoring
Similar to Game Day, the selection icon will be disabled, and a tooltip message will appear.
Finals Eligibility Override (Association Admins Only)
If a club needs to include a player who has not met the eligibility criteria for finals, they can make a request to the association admin to override the finals eligibility status in order for the player to be selected.
Association admins can action this request by navigating to the relevant team allocation page and selecting the Edit Finals Eligibility Status button.
Note: Only association administrators can override the eligibility criteria; clubs do not have access to this feature.
The admin will be redirected to the management page, where they can choose to override a player's status to make them eligible or ineligible.
Reporting
The Games Played Report includes information regarding the finals eligibility criteria for a team, the number of games a player has played and whether they are eligible for finals.
To generate the report, select Reports from the main menu, then the Competitions sub-tab and scroll down to the Games Played Report section. Select the relevant Competition and Season, then click the Generate button.
