Setting Up Age & Gender Restrictions

Team Selection Based on Age and Gender Criteria
Overriding Age and Gender Restrictions (For Association Administrators Only)
Overview
Association administrators have the ability to set age and gender restrictions for player registrations and game participation. By enabling the "Age Restrictions" feature at the season level, administrators can define a date of birth range for player eligibility in the competition. Players who do not fall within this range will be unable to register. Additionally, if age restrictions are set at the grade level, administrators can specify the permissible age range for players participating in that particular grade.
The "Gender Restrictions" feature allows administrators to define gender-specific criteria at the grade level. If participants do not meet the age and gender criteria set for a particular grade, the administrator cannot include them in the team lineups unless an exemption is granted by the association.
Setting Up Age & Gender Restrictions
Age Restrictions
If the grade hasn't been created, you can set the Age Restrictions setting while setting up the grade.
Gender Restrictions
The Gender Restrictions setting allows admins to specify which genders are permitted to play in games for a particular grade. When the Gender Restrictions toggle is enabled, five gender options will be displayed and all will be pre-selected by default. Unselect any options you wish to restrict. Only players that fall under the selected options will be available for lineup selection.
Restrictions Displayed on Team Allocation Page
To view the active restrictions, navigate to the allocation page for teams in the grade with enabled restrictions. The age and/or gender restrictions applied to the team will be displayed on the right side under the Grade Details section.
Team Selection Based on Age and Gender Criteria
If a player has not met the age and or gender criteria for a team, then the following actions will occur on the Game Day page (admin portal), My Teams (public portal) and E-Scoring platform:
- The selection icon to move players from "out" to the active lineup will be disabled for players who do not meet the age or gender criteria. A message will also be displayed, informing the admin that the player cannot participate due to not meeting the age criteria.
Overriding Age and Gender Restrictions (For Association Administrators Only)
If a club requires a player who does not meet the age and gender requirements to be included in a game, they may request an override from the association admin.
Association admins can process this request by navigating to the relevant team allocation page and selecting the "Edit Player Restriction Status" button at the bottom of the Grade Details section.
Please Note: This button is visible only to association admins and is not accessible to clubs.
The admin will be directed to the management page, where they can choose to override the player’s status to make them eligible or ineligible.
