Age Groups allows association and club administrators to manage participants and registration numbers more effectively by tagging players with an age group.
Associations can quickly create age groups to identify players based on their date of birth. Whilst Associations and Clubs can filter, allocate and manage players easily based on their age group. Additionally, Clubs can avoid accepting too many registrations by setting age and gender limits on registration forms. Registrations can also be closed for particular age groups.
Set up Age Groups
Admin Bodies and Associations can set Age Groups on a competition season by navigating to Competition Management from the main menu on the left-hand side and select the relevant Competition tile.
For an existing season, select the appropriate Season tile > Settings tab. For a new season, click the Add Season button. In Season Age Settings, click Set Up Age Groups.
From the resulting pop-up, configure Age Groups by selecting a date to calculate a player's age and the age groups to use. Click the Update & Save button to confirm.
Select the minimum age in the youngest group and the age range in any open-ended groups.
Note: A notification will appear if:
- Age groups added that fall outside of existing age restrictions in the season.
- Gaps between age groups where some participants would not be covered by any age group.
- Age group overlap. Players can only be in a single age group.
Once completed, click Create Season (or Update & Save for an existing season).
Set up Advanced Age Ranges
If age groups require a range that includes months or days (such as allowing ages 6.5 years), you can set these using advanced DOB age ranges.
Once age groups have been setup:
Click Set advanced DOB age ranges to display additional fields in the table. Set the number of months or days in age groups that require them.
Click Update & Save to confirm.
View Participant Age Groups
When configured, age groups are displayed for each player in participant lists. Filters are available to search for a participant based on Age Group. This can be viewed by navigating to the relevant competition and season tile, then selecting the Participants tab. The search and filter options can be used to locate specific players.
The age group will also appear on the participant profile. This can be accessed by selecting View from the corresponding participant under the Participants tab.
Age groups will also appear when viewing a team.
To find a team, after selecting the relevant Competitions and Season tile, choose the Teams tab and select the relevant team.
Administrators can easily find the right players when allocating players to a team using the Age Group filter.
Once a team has been selected, choose the the Allocate player button. Use the Age group filter to locate players which fit the relevant age group.
Age groups will also appear in the Participant Report. This can be found by selecting the Reports in the main menu on the left-hand side and then select the Competitions tab and scroll down to Participant Report.
Modify Age Groups
To edit or remove an age group in a season, navigate to Competition Management in the main menu on the left-hand side and select the relevant Competition tile.
Select the relevant Season tile > Settings tab. Under the Age Groups section, click the Edit Age Groups button, select.
In order to remove all age groups, select the Remove button.
A pop-up will then appear to confirm the removal or cancel to return to the previous page.
