PlayHQ allows netball associations to configure scores and statistics that apply across all grades for their sport.
In addition to standard scoring, some competitions may include extra scoring options, such as super shots. These extra scores can be used in electronic scoring, game scores, and player statistics, but they must first be created by the sporting body to appear in the system settings.
The Extra Scores feature enables administrators to manage scoring across competitions by allowing them to enable or disable extra scores when creating or editing competition-grade settings or individual grade settings.
Administrators can also enter both standard and extra scores on the game day page, record extra score statistics for teams and players on the game details page, and view finalised games that include extra scores in the Game Centre.
Enabling Extra Scores
To enable extra scores for a grade, navigate to the Competition Management menu, select the relevant Competition and Season, then go to the Grades tab.
Choose the grade, then select the Settings tab, followed by the Game sub-tab.
Scroll down until you see the Extra Scores section. In the Extra Scores section, toggle the setting on and select the extra score type that will apply to the grade, generally will be 2 for a Super Shot. The scroll down and ensure you click Update & Save to apply your changes.
Extra scores can be enabled at any time, regardless of the game status—upcoming, in-progress, pending, or finalised. If extra scores have been enabled but not yet used for any games or player stats, they can be disabled. However, if extra scores have already been applied, a warning message will appear, and the setting cannot be changed until the extra scores are removed from all affected games.
Using Extra Scores in E-Scoring
Entering extra scores is the same as adding regular goals. When this happens, just click on Super Goal and the number of extra scores will be added to the team totals and player statistics.
Viewing Extra Scores in Final Scores
Extra Scores can be viewed as SG in score statistics for each team. They can also be seen from a participant view in statistics as SG.
By using the Extra Scores feature, netball administrators can ensure competitions reflect all scoring variations and maintain accurate player and team statistics throughout the season.
