Claiming a profile Using Find My Profiles
Overview
Profile claiming in PlayHQ allows account holders to identify and merge duplicate profiles that exist in the system. When profiles are successfully merged, all registration history, player statistics, and transfer records are combined into a single profile.
This article explains what profile claiming is, when it occurs and how to claim a matching profile using the Find My Profiles feature. Common reasons for duplicate profiles include creating a new account when one already exists, multiple account holders registering the same dependant, dependants creating their own account when they turn 18, and participant profiles that were imported from legacy platforms.
Things to note
PlayHQ searches for duplicate profiles by matching a participant’s first name, last name, gender, and date of birth. When duplicate profiles exist, they can usually be merged into a single profile using the Find My Profiles feature.
Duplicate profiles will not be visible if the profile you are trying to claim is a primary profile and you are logged in to a dependant profile, or if the profile you are trying to claim has had administrator access at any time.
Claiming a Profile Using Find My Profiles
To begin, log in to the PlayHQ account you want to keep and merge profiles into at playhq.com. Once logged in, click your profile icon in the top-right corner of the screen and open Account Settings.
From there, select the Profile tab in the top navigation bar.
Scroll down the page until you locate Find My Profiles and click Get Started.
You will then be asked to choose the profile you wish to merge into. Select the bubble next to the correct profile and ensure it turns green to confirm your selection.
Next, review your personal details, including first name, last name, date of birth, and gender. If any of these details are incorrect, you will need to PlayHQ Support to request an update before continuing. You will also be asked to select the sport you believe the duplicate profile is associated with, with Netball being the most common option. Once selected, click Search.
If a matching profile is found, you will be prompted to verify ownership via email or mobile verification. Enter the verification code sent to the contact details on the matched profile.
Then click Continue to complete the merge process.
After the Profile is Merged
Once verification is successful, the profiles will be merged into one. You will then have a single PlayHQ profile with all registration history, statistics and records appearing together under that profile.
